There are few things more annoying than watching your lipstick travel from your lips to your, or somebody else’s collar, and in addition to the embarrassment, you can be out an otherwise perfectly good shirt if you do not treat the lipstick stain promptly. But a lipstick stain can almost always be taken care of with common household cleaners like dish detergent and laundry pre-wash, or in a pinch with rubbing alcohol or even hair spray. The trick is to treat the stain before it has a chance to set, and to dab it gently instead of rubbing at it. (more…)

You may shudder at the cost of department store cosmetics, yet hesitate to purchase discount cosmetics. But many of the discount cosmetics at the discount retail stores were once on the department store shelves, but have simply passed their expiration dates. And while other discount cosmetics are from les known companies which do not spend as much on either ingredients or advertising as the major cosmetics manufacturers, they still can produce reasonably decent products for their reasonable prices. Eye liner can be one of the most effective accents for your eyes, but should never be applied in a way which makes it more than that. You can choose between liquid, cake, and pencil eyeliner, but always use one in a color to complement your eye color. Liquid eyeliner is better for dramatic occasions and cake or pencil eye liners are fine for everyday use.
